In print and online, you'll find no lack of French learning materials, especially as compared to many other languages. The key to effective l earning would then boil down to what suits your learning style. We hope you will find a gem or two in these...FrenchPod101First, a disclaimer: Innovative Languages publishes language 'pods' in Spanish, in Chinese, in Italian... in 34 different languages. Thus we cannot call it a site dedicated exclusively to the French language. However, each language they present has its own web address, denoted by the language name, followed by pod101.Why 'pod', you wonder? Hint: it has nothing to do with a figurative pea pod...Podcasts were originally meant for download exclusively to Apple products, specifically the Ipod.  These days, you can listen to podcasts on any device you want.  With that in mind, you can download any and all of FrendPod's casts, to listen to and replay at your leisure. When you create your account, the first question you will be asked is what your level of French is. The selection runs from absolute beginner to advanced. From there, you would have your choice of learning pat hs, organised into topics. For example, you might choose Mastering Level 1 French and, starting at Lesson 1, you would progress through all of the lessons until that module is finished. This linear progression learning method is optional. You may also skip around until you find exactly where you need to be, and start your learning from there.Everything on FrenchPod101 is downloadable: the audio, the video and the lesson notes.Indeed, they thoughtfully provide notes for every installment that you can keep and refer back to.Isn't that considerate of them?News In SlowThis podcast series uploads a new topic weekly, generally dealing with some current event.Their pages are well organised, providing links to the various features they offer, such as a grammar overview, and a list of expressions used in the audio discussion. There is also a series of flashcards available for download! At the very top of the page, you would select what level you can understand French at, and then it is just a ma tter of applying yourself to the materials at hand. What if you are beyond beginner French but don't quite understand intermediate? The best part about News in Slow is that they discuss current events so, even if you don't catch every word, there is a good chance you know something about the topic at hand.Besides, that gives you more new language to study! One major difference between FrenchPod and News in Slow is the emphasis on French grammar.FrenchPod's philosophy is that absorbing grammar will be the inevitable result of hearing French conversation.News in Slow dedicates an entire page, linked to each lesson, in order to expound on grammar particulars for that podcast. If you are the type of language learner who needs to assimilate language mechanics in order to grasp language functionality, this would be an important distinction for you.If you are more of a free agent, you might appreciate this next French site...You can download a word of culture and language to your smartphone th rough podcasts Source: Pixabay Credit: FunkyFocusTalk in FrenchThis is more of a freestyle, random topic podcast site. Unlike the others discussed thus far, it tends to be targeted more toward advanced French speakers, and it does not provide a transcript, or lesson for lesson grammar page.It does include a grammar notebook, free for download when you subscribe. If you are at intermediate level or higher, this would be a great podcast to listen to, even if you don't yet know all of the vocabulary.By listening to this fluent narrative, you could really train your ear to pick up French slang expressions, also known as verlan. If you are ready to jump into advanced language and culture discussions, this might be the best podcast for you!Although it is subscription based, there are a number of sample podcasts you can listen to for free, just to see if it would be a good fit.On those free podcast pages, you may take advantage of their free French learning package!A Word on PodcastsBefore w e continue with our list of best French podcasts, let us go over some benefits of podcasts in general. Some people who learn language cannot see the point in exercising only one aspect of French study â€" listening comprehension, while being given no chance to speak French themselves. That is a valid point. After all, nobody has ever asked 'Can you listen to French?'.The question is usually 'Can you speak French?'Nevertheless, there are tremendous benefits to be had in subscribing to an effective, intimate means of immersion into the French language, such as:portability â€" you can download a segment and take it with youtime-efficient: listen to podcasts while doing other things, such as household chores.Money-saving: you would have to go to a classroom or abroad to get this level of immersionpersonal: The French language goes directly into your ears, if you use earbuds, or surrounds you if you play it in your caron-demand: you do not have to tune in for your next lesson, or rush to a ny class. Podcasts will be there, ready for you to download and make use of, whenever you want them. All of these make excellent points for podcasts, but them being on demand is really the clincher, isn't it?That, coupled with the fact that most French podcasts we've investigated come with transcripts, grammatical notes, lists of new words and phrases, exercises and quizzes make this type of learning essential for the serious student of French. You may choose to download several French podcasts Source: Pixabay Credit: PIX 1861Rounding Out the Top TenDaily French Pod originates in France, and covers a variety of topics, from sniffling to China's relationship with France. Each segment comes with a downloadable transcript, a French vocabulary list and an exercise page. They are most suited to beginners. These French lessons are by subscription only.Another French for beginners podcast is Podcast Français Facile. Perhaps the best aspect of this site is that the lessons are organised accord ing to your level of fluency, as ranked by the French proficiency exam structure of the DELF.The possible downside is that the entire page is in French. As it is meant for beginners, there might be some difficulty navigating it.French etc. is in English, but the topics discussed are in conversational French. All topics are narrated by a native speaker of French, and are preceded by a short lesson in grammar. You can practice your spoken French by reading along with the transcript as your francophone host speaks. The bar at the top gives you the option of choosing what level  of French you can understand, and even offers a dictation exercise. If you have trouble with French verbs, there is a page to help make the subject clearer. There is a measure of free study materials, but a subscription will give you access to premium learning tools. To get away from language lessons, our final recommendation is to listen to news commentators discussing current events in French.France Info News specia lises in informative reporting, often adding humour and satire to their broadcast. If you are more advanced in your French studies, listening to these personalities is sure to give you an in-depth understanding of the history and culture of France.Even if you are not quite so advanced in your French learning, listening to these podcasts will introduce you to the rhythm and flow of French words, as spoken by someone whose native language is French. There are so many online resources available for online French learning that we could not possibly review and critique them all. However, we can direct you to a summary page with links to relevant podcasts, so that you might try them out for yourself, and select the best ones for your learning needs. We accept your heartfelt merci!Find out about the best French dictionaries and translators for learning French.

They are generally a very highly respected organisation, with links to the British Council and to the English language educational bodies in respective English-speaking countries around the world. They also helped develop the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) â€" the familiar scale on which you will be graded.Others include Pearson in association with t he London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Their business English qualifications sit within their broader portfolio of technical business certificates. Given that they are developed by the very people who oversee business in the UK, they probably know what they are talking about.Let’s have a look at these qualifications in more detail - and you can find out everything you need to know about learning business English here! The Three Cambridge English Business ExamsCambridge English are potentially the most highly regarded provider of English language qualifications in the world. The important element to know of the latter is that it can be taken online. The BE Cs come in three progressive parts. Welcome to the world of business English.Business Preliminary (BEC Preliminary)Business Preliminary is the first of the BEC qualifications, and this caters for people of B1 in the CEFR. Sitting and passing this exam will testify to the fact that you can talk about business subjects; write business emails and take telephone calls; and understand basic diagrams and charts. The exam itself lasts for about two hours and twenty minutes and comprises of three paper.Business Vantage (BEC Vantage)The BEC Vantage certificate is for people of B2 level. You’ll be able to read articles and reports from business publications and be able to engage in business meetings.Predictably, as the standard is somewhat higher, the exam will be a little more testing: it lasts for two hours, forty minutes and has four separate papers.Business Higher (BEC Higher)The BEC Higher is sold as ‘advanced’, and if you manage to crack this, there is no stopping you from becoming one of the most senior figures in yo ur business organisation. You’ll be confidently engaging in presentations and meetings, communicating fluently at senior levels, and grappling with more complex business concepts. This exam takes three hours. However, it is the one that business schools and most businesses accept around the world.LinguaskillOnce known as BULATS, Linguaskill is a test that employers and higher education institutions use to test your English language skills. The whole thing is computer-based and covers all of the language skills required â€" from listening and speaking to writing and reading. The test will be able to tell you whether you are anywhere from A1 to C1.The chances are you will sit this at a location chosen by your employer. The Five International Qualifications in Business English from Pearson and LCCIPearson is an academic publisher and provider of educational materials. LCCI, or the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is the organisation of the businesspeople in London. Together, they have come up with this English language qualification specifically designed for business.Whereas there are three BECs, there are five different English for Business qualifications. These progress primarily through levels, whilst there are variations on the examinations too, as you will see.English for Business (Preliminary Level)The preliminary qualification is aimed at people at A1 or A2 level; they can use English at a basic level. The qualification will help you understand short conversations on business topics and to read basic business charts and diagrams. The exam lasts just over two hours.English for Business (Level 1)From A2 to B1, the Level 1 qualification is that little bit more challenging. You’ll be participating in short conversations this time, not just understanding.English for Business (Level 2)English for Business Level 2 is for B1 and B2 level learners. You can actually sit this one online too.English for Business (Level 3)Level 3 takes you up to C1 â€" in which y ou will be much more confident in your English language skills. If you complete this, you can progress to the Diploma in Business English for International Managers.English for Business (Level 4)Finally, the Level 4 qualification is for fluent speakers of English. You will succeed in any business context with this qualification. Once you've passed your business English exams, there's nothing stopping you.Preparing for Business English ExamsHow do you prepare for these business English examinations? Just as you would with any qualification â€" but in the knowledge that you should be preparing for the test, not just learning English. These certificates are notorious for asking for quite unrealistic details from you. It’s not a case of understanding what is being said, as such, as you answering the question that you are being asked â€" in the way that they want you to answer it.Find a Private Business English TutorThe best way to navigate this complex field is to find an English tutor who can help you with the specificities for the exam. Experienced tutors, such as you will find on Superprof, know how to get students to pass. That might be exactly what you need.Keep Doing those Practice TestsAlongside your tutor, you need to become completely familiar with the exam paper that you will be sitting. This means doi ng practice test after practice test after practice test.We know it might become a little dull. But if you are sitting the exam, you may as well try and pass it!Check out where to find business English resources!

There are a variety of methods to organizing your materials that will aid your studying. Some students find that a daily inventory is helpf ul to not losing valuable classroom materials and study aids. Each time you leave a class, make sure everything is properly stored. Returning all materials to the proper place, either in a folder or binder, will prepare you in advance for your next study session. More efficient time management An important part of any student's study habits is the ability to efficiently manage available time. You may feel like there is never enough time to study, or that your study sessions are unproductive, but there are certain things you can do to boost your time management. My Fluffy Tutor Pet-owner Training

My Fluffy Tutor Pet-owner Training He came into my life suddenly one frosty December day. He was a tiny roll of white and brown fur, helpless, tender, with a curious glitter deep into his watchful dark eyes. I saw his photo on a web-site of a local asylum for stray animals and just couldn’t leave him there. As a reward I got incredible love and boundless devotion from his side and also an inexhaustible source of mischief and fun. Of course I knew that I would have to train him but I didn’t expected that this small pup also had an intensive tutoring program for me. From the very first day he taught me that each thing has its place and this place is high above the floor or behind the locked doors. Every item which wasn’t lucky enough to be in such a safe place turned completely useless and broken almost immediately. So it took me only several hours to become a very tidy and careful mistress. The second skill which I learnt very quickly was a strict punctuality. Timely walk in the open air is much more pleasant than a long cleaning and repairing of the room. Actually he wasn’t a really demanding tutor and I was a quite smart student so after some adjustments I’ve got a chance to take over the tutoring initiative. I spent a lot of time watching online movies and reading books and I discovered that there are several completely different approaches to dog training. And the main question which any new dog’s owner should ask to himself is: “What do I need this dog for? Do I need a ruthless guard or a maltreated slave or just a good companion and faithful friend”. I came to the conclusion that I didn’t need a guard dog blindly executing my orders. Instead I decided to bring up a cheerful and faithful friend. And this substantially simplified my task. For this purpose I didn’t have to drum into him all commands required by standard training programs. In fact there are only two orders that each dog must strictly execute: Stop and Come or Here. That is all! The rest is only your will and imagination. Each dog strives to set up a close contact with its owner otherwise it feels lonely and miserable. But dogs don’t know human’s language so we must teach them. Just talk to your dog! Whatever you do, during a walk or playing a game. Don’t be afraid to look silly. With time you will notice that your pet understands not just several standard phrases but also words which you’ve never taught him intentionally. Dog will also recognise your facial expressions, gestures and voice intonations. These indications are even more informative and clear for dogs but they can learn them only in the course of communication with you. Another step to mutual understanding with the dog is acceptance of some laws of the dogs’ community. Dogs like wolves live in packs and when you bring a dog into your home you become a member of its pack. It is vitally important to proof to your dog that you occupy a dominating position. It’s not that difficult as you may expect. You must obey 3 simple rules and a post of leader is yours: 1. Priority in food: always eat first before feeding a dog; even if you are not hungry just swipe something delicious from kitchen. 2. A dog must have its own bedding and it is not in your bed: it’s a pity but you have to forget how pleasant it is to sleep with a warm pet beside you; you are a leader and your bed is your throne which is unattainable for your whiskered subordinate. 3. Always keep initiative in your hands: never forget that it is you who decides when to start a game or to pet your dog; just ignore a toy which a dog pokes into your hand, send it away and call back in a few minutes. Of course there are many other peculiarities but these rules will allow you to subdue a dog without swearing and violence. Leader of a wolves’ pack never whips or abuses the juniors. Keep in mind your eminence, be worthy of this honor. Your home differs radically from a natural habitat of the dogs so some unpleasant surprises are inevitable. But none the less they live beside humanity for several centuries and their habits are well-known. In most cases if you want to reprove your dog it is enough just to say a few words in low voice and it will understand its fault. At the worst you can growl at a little imp, it is also a good way to relieve your stress. The most extreme penalty is to seize a furry criminal by the scruff of the neck and to shake but don’t use this kind of punishment without valid reason. This is the language which any dog can understand. Be patient, persistent and love your dog and you can teach it even to dance. If you have any further questions concerning dog training contact Miss Vivian B., one of TutorZ qualified dog trainers.
